August has been a super busy month for us, especially with our holiday club. The toddlers and pre-schoolers have been participating in some fun activities, including cooking, yoga, music and museum trips just to name a few.
The trips to the British Museum and National Portrait Gallery were by far our favourite activities. Getting the children out of the nursery setting encouraged them to explore art in a whole new way.
Our visit to the National Portrait Gallery saw the children observing a wide range of paintings and describing what they could see and understanding different emotions. The children also got the chance to be creative and draw some lovely pictures of the paintings.
The purpose of our visit to the British Museum was to explore ancient Egypt. And the children really enjoyed seeing the different Egyptian objects, and having Paige and Carla tell them wonderful stories about the objects.
Two very different and exciting adventures and we can’t wait to see where we’ll go next.
